Add Allotmin to your home screen
Allotmin runs in your browser, but you can put it on your phone's home screen so it opens like any other app — one tap, full screen, no address bar. Handy for doing a site walk with your phone in one hand.
On an iPhone or iPad
Your deviceUse Safari — it's the only iPhone browser that can do this properly.
-
1
Open allotmin.co.uk in Safari and sign in.
-
2
Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen (or top right on an iPad).
-
3
Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
-
4
Tap Add in the top right. The Allotmin icon appears on your home screen.
The first time you open it, you'll be asked to sign in again. That's normal — iOS gives a home screen app its own private browser storage, so it doesn't inherit the session from Safari. Tick "Remember me" and you'll stay signed in after that.
On an Android phone
Your deviceIn Chrome, Allotmin installs properly as an app.
-
1
Open allotmin.co.uk in Chrome and sign in.
-
2
Tap the ⋮ menu in the top right.
-
3
Tap Add to Home screen (some versions say Install app), then confirm.
Chrome may offer to install Allotmin by itself with a prompt at the bottom of the screen — if you see it, tapping that does the same job.
On a computer
In Chrome or Edge, look for the install icon at the right-hand end of the address bar, or use the browser menu and choose Install Allotmin. Safari on a Mac can add it to the Dock from File → Add to Dock. Otherwise a plain bookmark works just as well.
Good to know
- It's the same Allotmin, not a separate app — nothing to update, and everything stays in sync because it's all the same account.
- You still need an internet connection; there's no offline mode.
- There's no browser back button in full-screen mode — use the links and back buttons inside Allotmin itself.
- To remove it, press and hold the icon and delete it like any other app. Your account is untouched.
